In this week’s episode we hear the strange story behind the first modern cremation - but there’s more to the story. What happened to the cremains? Samples of the ashes were taken by a select group of doctors and surgeons. Cremation activists hoped that even though not everyone could be present to witness the cremation of de Palm, others could see how beneficial cremation was, as these doctors would take the idea away with them and show everyone that it was a respectable process. . .
