Tabata core work! Great way to quickly add accessory work to the end of your workout. Tabata is :20 of work followed by :10 of rest for 8 rounds. For this tabata I did 4 rounds straight of banded plank then went to 4 rounds straight of L sits. It sucked, in a good way. 😝 I really want to get to where I can have my legs straight out but not quite there yet. Banded planks are an awesome way to switch it up and give you a little resistance. - Insanely sore today. Going to do a lot of yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ and stretching and take it semi easy on my workout for today. - Heading to NYC tomorrow and still have so much to do to get ready! Here's a small piece I threw together from my workout the other day for the premiere of #workoutwednesday 🎥 The focus of the session was to work on the muscles located within the hip. Recently, I've started implementing notion of "working form" rather than "working volume/load". This is especially useful in training myofascial systems, or when learning new exercises. . The warm-up exercises aim to simulate the various hip region, with hopes of recruiting a greater percentage of the muscle tissue during the working sets. 🦀 Crab walks w/ resistance band, moving laterally, as well as forward/backward work the frontal and sagittal planes of motion. Focus on maintaining posture, and fluidity with the lower body movements. . The main exercise featured is something new I've been training: Bosu-ball barbell squat, w/resistance band. This exercise targets full-body muscle recruitment, in order to stabilize movement in frontal, sagittal, and transverse planes. Basically, all lateral, forward, backward, as well as rotational movements need to be balanced, while performing the squat.🏋️ The incorporation of movement along all 3-axis is a fundamental concept that was in a sense, "reinvented" by @wingspan. . I don't have as much info ankle exercises on my page, so I figured it was time to dive into some ankle action. - Dorsiflexion is just a fancy term for bringing your foot closer to your knee. But it's an important range of motion, especially when it's limited. If they are coming up, you're at the end of your mobility, move closer to the wall. The medial and lateral moves look easy, but the hit different heads of the gastroc. Resistance band booty workout!!! I used @fitpro_bootybands and picked different bands for different exercises! These can be used as a circuit for a warmup as a glute pumping workout finisher 🍑🍑🍑 use TEAGAN10 as for 10% off the bands! . 🔥 Stationary glute bridge with abduction 3 x 20: use a nice thick band for this exercise and really focus on keeping your body stable through the whole movement so there’s constant booty tension! . 🔥 Donkey kicks 3 x 15 per leg: contract your glutes to bring your knee up to hip level, add a flexible band for extra muscle recruitment . 🔥 Twisting lunges 3 x 20: these look tame until you try to juggle keeping your legs stable and the band tight and your quads start to burn . 🔥 Jump squats 3 x 15: soooo much more effective with a little resistance, try and land lightly on your toes to protect your knees . 🔥 Some extra full body fireeeee 🔥 - Battle ropes 3 x 30s: these KILL ME - Kettlebell pull throughs 3 x 10 each side: I’ve been doing these so regularly and I’m determined to perfect this crazy movement .
