Some art really does get more meaningful over time. I was looking through old art I've made, trying to think of what kinds of art I really enjoyed creating-and which ones could also be cherished and important to customers as well. I am launching an etsy next month (yay! :D) and it's important to me that both myself and the people buying my art actually care about it. I made this piece over two 年前發佈, but once I saw it I immediately remembered exactly what it felt like when I made it. It was a little piece for my dad of our old family dog who he just adored. I loved making it because of the emotional aspect, and also enjoyed the challenge of trying to get her likeness just so. Cinnadog ended up passing away around 6 months later (after a very well-loved 16 years) and I love knowing that my dad still has this painting to remember her by that was handmade by me. I don't want to share this for sympathy or to make you guys sad (I loved her, but it's been 1 ½ years and she had a good, long life, don't worry) but to talk about a type of art I think could be meaningful to make for others. Pet portraits, and human ones too, are something I've done occasionally over the years and really enjoyed but haven't thought too much about doing for others. Now I'm curious to know if very many would be interested in that since there are already so many other pet portrait artists and other ways to immortalize pets (My friend Stevie recently got a gorgeous tattoo of her Golden Retriever). Anyway, creating art I love and that means something personal to the person I'm giving it to is my goal, and this seems like a great way to get there! What do you think? How would you choose to remember or honor a pet? Would you go as far as getting a tattoo? (I wouldn't-because then I would need a tattoo for EVERY pet.) . . . #petportraits #petart #petportrait #petportraitartist #petdrawing #petdrawings #watercolorpetportrait #watercolorpetportraits #dogportrait #watercolordog #petpainting #petcommission #petcommissions #custompetportrait #instanightschool #tinypainting #tinypaintings #artgifts #originalpainting #watercolorandink #inkandwatercolor #beautifulmutt #beautifulmutts
