No amount of filter can hide exhaustion and puffy post-crying face from Saturday. I wasn’t t prepared to handle three boys alone all weekend while Jake was at church’s Man Camp. Friday night Nate went full metal jacket threenager temper tantrum, and Topher breastfed every hour on the hour. Saturday morning the oven caught fire while baking coffee cake for 60 for our women’s ministry Bunco diaper party at church 🔥 I was nursing Topher when I saw smoke. Nate was so scared by my yelling “danger, fire” that he peed his pants on the spot and yelled call 1-1-1”😭👌🏼 (we need to work on that number lol) Flames, baking soda thrown, and boiling sugar overflowing (no fire alarm sounded so now we know it needs new batteries) yet Joey missed the entire fiasco because he was mesmerized by the TV. (mildly concerned by that). Topher was screaming, I was frantic. (In fight or flight mode I guess I freeze) No coffee cake was salvaged but the oven made it Jake was camping in a no service area so I couldn’t get ahold of him during my post fire mental breakdown. We made it to church Bunco after an adrenaline and tear filled morning. I was happy to escape to somewhere free from harm or worry. Bunco was fun, I was immediately glad to be there surrounded by friends. Three hours after the fire Jake finally got word and drove to the church. We agreed he should go back and that I would take the munchkins to my sisters for trick or treating. All was well until the three boys and I were separated from our group during downtown trick or treating among the mass crowd. After 20 minutes in the cold without cell phone or car keys I was crying in an alley with the boys in a full panic (I don’t know a single phone number off the top of my head 🤦🏼♀️). God delivered a friend from my church life group and she and her son were with us for awhile until my sis gratefully found us (she knows I don’t handle crowds well especially disguised in costumes). While waiting we saw a handful of our friends from church which brought peace to my anxiety. I’m so thankful for the women from church who take care of one another during the calm and crazy times. I find so much peace in this sisterhood. Ty.

She keeps me on my toes and keeps me guessing! She also reminds me daily how much JOY there is to be had in the simplest of moments. . 2 seconds into the mall and she finds this vanity and proceeds to have a full on conversation with herself. It got me thinking about finding the magic in each day. . Life is hard and its SO easy to pick out the negative. What DIDN'T go my way--what goal I fell short on AGAIN--who slighted me or what I messed up on....but when we choose instead to pick out the positives, to visualize abundance in our lives--magic truly does happen! . I have to admit that I've been feeling very burnt out allowing a scarcity mindset to invade my thoughts. Disappointed with myself for mistakes I've made throughout the year, disappointed to not meet certain goals and expectations I had for myself. It doesn't serve me or my family to dwell in that place so i'm picking myself up and choosing to take a page from my mini me's book... . There is so much joy and magic to be found within each day I'm blessed to be on this planet. Today I choose to look for it in the simplest of moments. . Playing with my girl, checking in with my bootcamp girlies, strategizing with my coach tribe, daydreaming with my hubby at the dinner table of the plans we have for our family, snuggling with my boys at the end of the schoolday.... . #kürbis 🎃 geschnitzt. Der ist inzwischen faul. Und dann hat die Amerikanerin bei uns im Haus wie jedes Jahr ihren Mega Kürbis 🎃 vor die Tür gestellt. In diesem Jahr mit Gespenst 👻. Die Jungs bleiben immer vor der Tür im 2.OG stehen und bewundern den Kürbis 🎃. Und haben mir denn klar gemacht das sie auch so einen großen tollen Kürbis 🎃 machen möchten. Ach ja Mama mit ner Fledermaus 😅. Naja zum Glück konnte ich mir das entsprechende Werkzeug ausleihen. So Kids Glücklich Mama Glücklich 😎.

Sam had a doctors appointment this morning and David said to me, ‘I’ll take him and you can work.’ And without hesitation I replied, ‘No, I need to be there for him.’ . You see, my mama heart always wins. Sure in the corporate world David and I would have to choose who took off work and took Sam to the doctor but this morning we were both there. This morning and every morning I will never have to choose work over my babies. . Sure it is a little doctors appointment but to the mama who use to be controlled by PTO, scheduling my life around work meetings, and the endless guilt that comes with taking time off and knowing you are letting someone else down in the office….this little decision is everything! . So I woke up early, got my work done, and then took Sam to the doctor and now the library. . After the library I will work my nap time hustle and I will get my newest mama coaches into my November Mentorship so that they can have the freedom to be at every doctor appointment as well ❤️ . Because true freedom is really about having the CHOICE to decide how you spend your morning. . I am opening up my November Mentorship for moms ready to have true freedom. As if life wasn’t crazy enough with school, Owen and a move. I decided today would be a good day to start a fitness program and try to eat right again. 🙃🤷🏼♀️ I don’t have a single piece of food in my old house where we are today. (I lied, I have jelly, ranch dressing and pino grigio.) But wawa came in clutch with something that works with my meal plan. 👏🏼 scrambles eggs and turkey sausage. I know home made is best but this will do just for today. 🙌🏼
