Friday I’m trying out a new song. Like most, it’s about a few things, mostly being scared of how much I love being on the road... and alone.
#lulz I wrote this in South Dakota while driving past farmers and tractors in these huge fields. It was night, and seeing these enormous machines drive around with headlights on was like something out of mad max. DON’T PUSH Why don’t you stay where you are? Do you feel more at home in your car, driving alone in the dark? These houses are cold to the touch, and this one ain’t pretty enough, to keep me from moving along. Don’t push me. I’m too heavy. It just wears me out. Moonshine as bright as the sun. Now that it’s all in your blood? Do you feel like a stick in the mud? A room full of strangers a song. Wondering where we got it wrong. Are we ever gonna win back more than we lost? Don’t push me. I’m too heavy. It just wears me out. Don’t love me. You’re so lovely. I’ll just wear you down.
