Haven't posted anything about the Doors in a very long time so here's one of Jim's quotes I found at work today. I work at a fair trade store and we sell a lot of incense. I was very suprised to find this on the back of one of the incense packages. Thought it was really cool though! On the back it says: "It all started in the sixties. The call for freedom of self expression. To break free from society. These incense sticks and this quote from Jim Morrison can help you find and accept your true self."

First of all, this is The Doors greatest album. This easily includes in my top 5 albums of the 1960s. Thank you loads for a hundred followers and I hope you'll enjoy the second chapter of The Doors first three albums. . Band: The Doors Album: Strange Days, 1967. . The first song is the title-track "Strange Days". There are loads of experimenting with the newer sounds of the late 60s in here. Some echo effects with this kind of reverb that happens a few times. A great introduction! "You're A Lost Little Girl" is a wonderful piece of The Doors. So peaceful and elegant, everything suits like a tie in this one. "Love Me Two Times" shows more of the rock n' roll in their music. I quite enjoy this short little tune like heaven was close. "Unhappy Girl" is a great blues tune. I love how they manage to get so many fine genres into this album. How many has done that in their past? "Horse Latitudes" is probably one of Jim Morrison's greatest poems. I have no idea what this is about because I haven't spent twenty hours of my life on analyzing it. "Moonlight Drive" gives me the way of the dance. Really an uptown beat with loads of interesting instrumental choices. (The way they play the instruments.) And of course, my favorite track of the 60s, "People Are Strange". Morrison's voice is calm and soft enough to make a kindergarden sleep till the children are old enough to get their driver's licence. "My Eyes Have Seen You" is kind of the same as "Moonlight Drive". You don't need the ie in smoothie, this song is just fine and smooth. "I Can't See Your Face In My Mind" is close to "You're A Lost Little Girl", just wonderful. "When The Music's Over" is The Doors way of ending a final exam with an A+, just like "The End". Can you guess what Roman Rating I would give this masterpiece? . Two Personal Favorites: 1. Off the beaten path... JIM MORRISON'S Grave! Once in a lifetime find...Had to seek this out! Found another musical great as well- Chopin's gravesite... really old & interesting cemetery... no rhyme or reason to it. Very random placement & the dead are PACKED IN! .
