I have never looked at my body honestly as being incomplete. I have had the insecurity probably with how my prosthetic limb looks different from my natural left limb but apart from that I've never felt incomplete. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Beauty to me is a definition of what you give to it, it's easy for me to say that but I can only tell you it's pressure when you accept it. Pressure from society.and quite often I just feel like if you think there is something “wrong” with your body and you CAN work on it, why not just work on it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t have flaws. Bodywise, no I don’t What I could have considered as a flaw is the scarring on my face, spots on my face, the rashes that I frequently have, and somehow I’m trying my best to have a regimen and to be consistent with it even the natural things I’m using. Eating healthy isn’t supposed to be about guilting yourself. Its supposed to be about enjoying it and allowing for mistakes. We’re all human. Everyone slips up. Having a healthy relationship with food is the foundation to succeeding long term. ⁣ ⁣ Here’s a few tips to get you back on track!⁣ ⁣ -Fill your plate with veggies first and make it your biggest portion. They’re big on volume and low on calories! ⁣ -Stay busy outside of work. People tend to eat junk because of boredom. ⁣ -Use smaller plates if you have a hard time leaving food on your plate and want to just finish it just to clear the plate. ⁣ ⁣ Last but not least!⁣ -Move away from the table after your meal. To some it may not seem like a big difference, and it has taken me a lot longer to get to where I am at. I used to hide under big lose clothing because I just didn't feel confident about my body. I can honestly say that I am so proud of the steps I have taken thus far in feeling good about my body. I will never stop making my mind, heart and body happy.😍 I realized that for my body to react to being happy, I needed to be happy with who I am, not just on the inside but also on the outside. People ask me all the time... . “How do you stay so motivated?” . And the truth is... I’m not! 🤷🏼‍♀️ . But, there are a few things that keep me going and allow me to show up even when I don’t *feel* like it: . 1. I have made exercise a HABIT - it’s no longer a chore, it’s something I enjoy doing! I know it makes me feel better so even if I don’t feel like it I do it for the outcome I know I will receive! 💪🏻 (coming from someone who used to hate working out, that’s a huge feat 😉) . 2. The fact that my workouts are super convenient, short & effective! I can head down to my basement for a quick 20-30 min sweat rather than packing a bag, driving to the gym, waiting for machines, etc. makes ALL the difference for me. Especially as a shift worker, for real those before/after-12-hour-shift-workouts are a struggle! But having a trainer at my fingertips makes it easier! 💁🏼‍♀️ . 3. ACCOUNTABILITY! I can’t stress this one enough! Before coaching I never stuck with anything. But having a group of people holding me accountable, who notice when I don’t show up - allowed me to reach my goals and be more consistent than ever before! 👊🏻 . I was SO close to trimming this video to cut out the last ab circuit- I saw my mom pooch and felt so defeated. And then I thought- this is NOT a healthy self view. I’ve grown and given birth to three kids! Of course I’m going to have some loose skin there! I had a baby a YEAR ago! Of course my abs still aren’t completely back together! It’s so easy to be hard on yourself and expect perfection, but giving yourself time and grace is the hardest thing to accomplish. we all have our WHY. Where it started. Where we began to soothe with food, control food, fill the void with food, emotionally eat, restrict, binge, cleanse, count, diet, lose weight, gain weight... - for me it was all about a deeper insecurity. Not feeling like I fit in with those I loved the most. A lot of confusion, angst & pain in not wanting to be who I was, and a strong longing desire to be someone totally different. That turned into anxiety, and panic attacks, then depression. And soon food was my crutch, comfort & control, but it was also my enemy. - an unhealthy relationship with food, hating our bodies, controlling what we eat or don’t eat, trying to change ourselves...doesn’t happen out of nothing. There is always a WHY. - Today on my podcast (nutrition-ish) I’m talking about binge eating, why we do it and how to stop. But I’m also talking about my story. Way back to when I was in 5th grade and everything started. The deeper why that then evolved into disordered eating & punishing myself. - I share my story so you guys know you’re not alone. Read: I made this a week or so ago and it seems appropriate to post it now. So, a friend & I had a conversation about the way we had both been gradually dropped by people we thought were our true friends. It really stings when someone does this to you. Actually, it's devastating particularly when you're already going through a rough time. It's usually not because you did something wrong either. People often hit the road when they realize that you're struggling with life or you don't have the same interests anymore. The reality is that most people are self-absorbed. Let's say you and your friends go out drinking on the weekends, along with sometimes during the week. Suddenly, you no longer drink when you go out. The invitations slowly stop coming. Your friends make plans without you & you see everything on social media. Yeah, it sucks. It's funny because it's happened to me twice. The first time hurt more than the second. I don't think I let my guard down much after the first time. So, this is the conclusion I've come to: I don't want to waste my time with people who don't want to be my biggest cheerleaders or don't want to show up when I need them. I want friends who make me WANT to be there for them because they're there for me in the same manner. I want to look forward to seeing my friends because they're looking forward to seeing me. Specifically speaking, female friends. Women who support me and vice versa. I'm not into the catty stuff. I never have been. I just like real people who call me on my crap but still love my quirks and put effort into our friendship. Friendships are not one-sided. I won't settle for anything less. Also, if someone doesn't have your back when you're going through hell but has the audacity to show back up when everything's all peachy then show them the door. I've rambled on for a bit too long. People are going to come and go, however, know your worth. That's it. Don't settle for crappy friends who don't appreciate you or the effort you put into your friendship. ❤
Dirty bathroom mirror selfies are always the best🤳🏾 . Physical changes in this journey is great I’m not going to lie but it’s not the most important reward. I thought losing weight was going to be a fix all for my problems and I was finally going to be able to live a happy life. . . I will be the first to tell you that weight loss will not rid you of your unhappiness. It will not rid you of your imperfections. It will not rid you of your insecurities. It will not rid you of your depression or anxiety. Weight loss is not a cure all. . It took to me to dig deep and face my inner demons. I had to finally realize that I couldn’t let my baggage that I continued to carry for years run my life. I had to see and believe in the value I had to offer. I had to love myself for who I was then and who I had yet to become. I had to live for me and me only. . . Now every time I look in the mirror (even with the filth) I’m truly over joyed with what I see not just with the physical changes but the inner beauty that out powers anything that a scale could never measure.

Definitely having a case of the Mondays where I feel like I’m rushing around and have no time to breathe! This is all a mindset and all I need is a shift in perspective. The more I tell myself how much I have to do and that I don’t have time ⏰ the more stressed 😩 resentful, and exhausted I become. In the past, I would have allowed this to be an excuse to stuff my face with sugar 🧁 🍭 and refined carbs 🥯 or pop any sort of pill 💊 as a way to escape and numb my feelings. So it’s the Monday post-Thanksgiving...🥧🍗 - How are you all feeling? I’ll be the first one to say that I’m not feeling my best🙋🏼‍♀️ To be honest, I’m feeling bloated, puffy, digestion isn’t too great, hella exhausted, and just kind of sad. - Two weeks ago I was in Florida, totally embracing vacation + my bod, but today I’m feeling a little down. I miss my family, my stomach hurts, I “feel” heavier, and want to sleep for 15 hours. Does that make me a hypocrite? I don’t know. But I feel like it just makes me human. Today wasn’t my favorite day but some damn good things happened today. Poppy + I had a safe flight, work was productive, and I made a super yummy dinner. - I don’t expect myself to think every day is absolutely amazing, but I do expect myself to find an amazing piece of everyday. I’m feeling a little vulnerable sharing but I feel like I can’t be the only one having post-holiday blues. - So, here’s my little plan to combat this post-thanksgiving rut. MONDAY! How to focus + get more done in your day Getting distracted will waste your time and energy. Tips for staying focused: ✔️ Eliminate distractions (turn off your phone, close browsers, etc.) ✔️ Be OK with B- work because it will still change lives. ✔️ Tell people you won’t be available. ✔️ Set a timer + give yourself a time frame to get a job done, such as one hour. I’m alllll about food. I love it. Who doesn’t tho? Never met someone who’s all like yeah I don’t like eating... like Tf????? Haha. Anywhoooo today AGAINNNN, a coworker said to me as I was eating gumbo for breakfast at 9 am. “Idk how you eat so much and don’t blow up!”😅🤣 I love it. . E V E R Y O N E is brainwashed to think bc I eat a lot that must = FAT GIRL. Uh. Only on the inside. & really, I know tons of people who BARELY eat and are overweight and unhealthy. It is about WHAT you eat and your TOTAL DAILY CALORIC INTAKE by the end of the day. Sooo if I eat 42 cups of broccoli (just an example) THATS A LOT OF FOOD. Vs someone who eats 4 Oreos... the Oreos have more CALORIES. And the broccoli is a ton more food! This is how I consistently eat so friggen much. I make the base of my food lower calories. . An example, I will use a head of lettuce as a base for a taco salad and eat a family size bowl with all the delicious toppings still, but instead of a taco shell which would have like 1209 calories in the shell ALONE I swapped it out for lettuce leaves. And I still get all the taco flavaaaas and meat and stuff. Make sense? Just make better food swaps and you can eat more. . Instead of having one scoop of Ben and berries (like 400 cals for one scoop) you can have something still satisfying like a frozen Greek yogurt and some whipped pumpkin with cinnamon and honey 🍯 I KNOWWWW IT AINT THE SAME THOOOO. Well you know what? You can still eat ice cream, just in moderation.or just in proper portions. It really your preference tho. If you’d rather eat that amazing Ben and jerries— go ahead! But I know I love to eat a lot of food so when I swap it for lower calorie options that are just as satisfying to me, I can eat way way more. PLUSSSSS + you’ll feel better when you eat better. Honestly Anxiety and depression are highly linked to our diets too! So try eating for your HEALTH and not just your waistline. And everything else falls into place. ⤵️⤵️⤵️continued below⤵️⤵️⤵️

A greater capacity to tolerate such behaviour may serve an individual briefly, but fails to address serious ongoing problems for a team.  Disrespect is not a problem from which one should merely recover, but a problem that should prompt corrective action from individuals and the organisation. Although developing the capacity to tolerate high work demands has definite benefits, tolerating persistent frustration of core motives or values has a detrimental psychological and life balance impacts.
