The first double rainbow I've seen in 2018. This is probably random, but seeing rainbows always make me feel slightly more optimistic, so I thought I’d share this with you guys as well. ( and the people that really know me, will know how pessimistic I can be 😋 ) The year 2018 has so far granted me with many big changes, some of which have been difficult and far from comfortable. Although deep down, I convince myself time and time again that they all ultimately served for a greater purpose. ⠀ There is an old proverb that says "The red thread of fate may stretch or tangle. But it will never break". I don’t believe in coincidence, but I do believe we are all put into this earth to serve a beautiful singular purpose unique to each one of us. I have yet to find mine, but I think I’m beginning to have a clue or two. Or who knows? the universe certainly has a wicked sense of humour. ⠀ So the journey continues. ⠀ And heaven knows it hasn't been an easy one, but It IS one hell of a thrill ride! I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the wonderful souls that have been involved along the way: the catalysts, the nurturers, and the teachers. You know who you are 🙂. To conclude this longwinded essay... (and thank you if you managed to read this far!😘 ) whoever you are out there, keep fighting your own battle as far as your might and will can take you! You’re sure to leave with cuts and bruises as souvenirs, but try give it your very best and cling on to your faith. Trust that eventually all the fruits you bear from your labor will be the sweetest ones. .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀

I was only given these photos by my partner yesterday He thought that they would be too distressing for me to look at untill now. but I was fine shocked but ok . I'm glad he took them . the day of The op I went to get changed in my theatre gown ready for a10 hour operation. but still smiled and posed in my paper clothes he thought I was mad lol I refused to let fear get to me. i wasn't scared at all I was so relieved the time had come after so much chemo and uncertainty I just wanted the cancer out . and to know where I stood in my future I can hardly recognise myself in these photos I look so sick and gross nor do i remember much of my time In ICU . just snippets and what I was told by the people visting me. I know I felt like crap and the pain was bad and tubes everywhere and it was my 57th birthday but all I could think was that my cancer I had carried around for 9 months had gone . I remember my vivid dreams more than anything and being told they had been fighting to keep my blood pressure stable it was too low and the day they got me out of bed was a good day when took my first steps without that vile mass inside me . it hurt but I thought I'm walking. im doing ok . all seems a bad dream now and these photos only make me realise how strong I was I know how Ill I was and looked like death on these photos But looking at these now don't alarm me at all They have made me realise how strong I was. I know I never have to have an operation so invasive again . debulking sounds as horrible as it is . the scar is fading . but what ever life throws at me now I certainly can face anything. and getting cancer only made me stronger and resilient and stubborn and braver than I ever thought possible
#cancersucks but I beat it if you are going through ant sort of cancer you can do it too 6 days later I got home for Christmas
