- The tricep has three heads including the lateral head, the long head, and the medial head. Although you can emphasize different heads with different variations of exercises, all three heads will be involved to some extent in tricep exercises. Additionally, if you’re focusing on plenty of compound movements such as chest presses and shoulder presses, you’ll already be getting a good amount of tricep work. - The lateral head is the most visible head. Tricep pushdowns with a bar primarily hit it. Dips are another exercise for this head. The long head is the back portion of the tricep which is primarily hit with overhead exercises. The medial head is the least visible and sits right below the long head. Tricep pushdowns with a rope, instead of a bar emphasize it a bit more although any tricep pushdown will still hit both heads. - Overall, all three heads have a similar function so you’re probably already hitting each to some extent. 10.12.18 | Man this week I've had so many different emotions, it's been unreal. I took the time to self reflect and see how far I've come, both with my education but also my growth as an individual. I feel like we are all so busy with every day life, that we forget to take a step back and realize how much has changed. . . I landed a career that I've been wanting forever. Passed my boards and am finally able to help other people and make a difference in people's lives. Fallen in love with powerlifting, and continue to learn and grow every day. I am more than grateful for all my blessings thus far, and can't wait to continue to work toward becoming the best version of myself. . . I just wanted to thank everyone who have supported me and believed in me throughout my journey, and honestly say that I truly, truly appreciate every one of you. Thank you guys 😭🙌🏽
Competition bench with 245 moving very well. Board press with 275 moving just as well even after quite a few sets. Happy with that. Suspended KB (bamboo bar alternative) overhead press with 115. Think I'll be ready to go heavier on these next week. They sneak up on you after a few reps lol. And the other stuff is just some accessory things I felt like doing, cause I was feeling good training and I needed that, so I kept it going. I always enjoy training. But everything was just clicking and feeling good tonight so I just had to get the most out of it.
