NAUTILUS SHARKS: Your PTA Guide to the November Ballot Florida’s General Election on Tuesday, November 6th, will have great impact on the local, state, and national levels. Not only will we be choosing among candidates for elected office, but we will also be voting on numerous ballot measures—amendments to the Florida Constitution, Miami-Dade County charter amendments, and a referendum proposed by the Miami-Dade County School Board. Many of you have asked for guidance since the ballot is long, and its language often confusing. The information presented below is designed to acquaint you with the constitutional and charter amendments, as well as the referendum. Please note that while PTAs may not endorse or oppose candidates, we do take stances on issues within our scope. We encourage you to SHARE this guide widely.
